No subscription, no seat licences, no percentage of anyone's salary. If a slate is not worth the unlock fee to you, do not unlock it.
What the same hire costs through the usual routes.
Not a swipe at recruiters — they do work we do not do. It is simply the number you are weighing one slate unlock against.
| Route | What you pay | In practice |
|---|---|---|
| Recruitment agency | 15–25% of first-year salary | On a $24,000.00 remote salary that is $3,600.00–$6,000.00, due whether the hire lasts or not. |
| Managed VA provider | A permanent margin on every hour | You pay their rate, the professional receives a fraction, and the gap never closes. |
| Job board | Per post, plus your time | The listing is cheap. Reading four hundred applications against it is not. |
| This site | $29.00 a slate | Flat, one-off, and only after you have already seen the ranking for free — between 124 and 207 slates for the price of one agency placement. |
Agency and provider figures are the commonly published ranges for remote placements, not quotes we have collected. Treat them as orders of magnitude.
The other side of the invoice is zero.
Candidates pay nothing to join, to be matched, to be shortlisted, or to be hired. There is no premium profile, no featured placement, no credits to buy and no subscription that quietly moves someone up a ranking.
That is a product decision, not generosity. The moment a candidate can pay for position, the ranking stops describing fit and starts describing budget — and then the slate is worth nothing to you either.
What the unlock fee does not buy
It does not buy influence over the ranking. Unlocking a slate reveals it; it never reorders it, and there is no tier that does. If we ever sell placement to candidates, the number above stops meaning anything.
About the money, specifically.
The rest of the model is on the how-it-works page.
So nobody applies to my role?
Correct. There is no application, no cover letter and no tailoring. Standing profiles are matched against your brief, and those people are asked whether they consent to being shown to you.
Do you take a cut of what I pay them?
No. You pay the candidate directly and we never see the number. Revenue is the slate unlock and the optional structured interview, both priced on the pricing page. No placement percentage, no recurring cut.
What does it cost the candidate?
Nothing, at any point. They do not pay to be listed, matched, shortlisted or hired. A platform charging both sides is working for neither.
Write the brief. Look at the slate. Decide then.
Previewing costs nothing and takes about ten minutes. If the people we put in front of you are not worth unlocking, you have lost an afternoon of nothing.
